Q & A

It's incredibly important to us that our guests have as much information as possible to make travels and our celebration as fun and stress-free as possible! We will be keeping this section updated frequently and will embed tips, resources, etc. so it's all in one place. If we haven't answered what you're looking for, we encourage you to submit a question via the form below!

Guidance from the CDC & New York State on Travel and Gatherings

**Given  the expectation that all Americans will have access to a COVID vaccine by May 1st, 2021, decreasing COVID cases in the US, and warmer summer months approaching, we fully expect these guidelines will change and soften prior to our wedding celebration. We will keep our FAQs up to date with the most recent guidance**

 Q. What are the regulations around weddings and gatherings in NY state?

We expect to be able to hold a gathering of our intended size safely outdoors. Here is a link to the current (as of 4/18) guidelines related to weddings and catered events in NY State.

 Q. Where can I get a COVID test in Rochester?

COVID testing in Rochester is relatively straightforward. You can use this website to find a testing location most convenient to where you’ll be staying. We’ve done all of our COVID tests at CVS drive-thrus. They’ve been quick, easy, and the results have been available within a day.

 Q. What are the current COVID levels in Monroe County?

Utilize this dashboard for a comprehensive view into daily metrics (cases, positivity rates, vaccination rates, etc.) for Rochester and Monroe County.

 Q. What airport should I fly into?

The Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). It's conveniently located and less than 10 minutes from downtown Rochester and no more than 15 minutes away from our hotels and surrounding suburbs. Other options include Buffalo (BUF), which is an hour drive east or Syracuse (SYR) which is approximately an hour twenty drive west into Rochester. Ubers & Lyfts are readily available from all airports and there are lots of options for rental cars.

 Q. What should I wear?

Super casual! And mean it! The vibe we're going for  is ‘ultimate summer backyard party’ -- so wear something that you’re comfortable in and don’t feel pressure to dress up. Guys: Shorts are absolutely fine, don’t torture yourselves with long pants or jackets/ties. Girls: SAME! You’ll fit right in with shorts or a casual summer dress, etc.!  â€‹

 Q. What's the weather like in Rochester in July?

Summer in Western New York is absolutely beautiful. Rochester in July averages high temperatures of 83 and lows of 63. Especially as the sun goes down, we expect it to be very comfortable. We will have a large tent in our backyard to provide shelter in the event of a passing shower.

 Q. Are children welcome?

Absolutely! Kids are invited and welcome to join the celebration. Rochester has lots of family friendly activities, which we’ve linked in the ‘what to do in Rochester’ portion of this site. Our backyard has a caged trampoline and there will be lawn games set up that kids are welcome to partake in. We also understand some may want to have an ‘adult night or weekend’ away, which is great with us too! If you’re interested in sitter recommendations, we are happy to provide. Based on interest levels, we’re happy to explore having an on-site sitter to entertain children on-site as parents celebrate :)

 Q. How do I get to your house?

Our address is 1410 Clover Street, Rochester, NY 14610. If heading West, it's exit 23 off of 490. If coming from one of our hotel blocks, it's a short drive up or down East Avenue. When you arrive, walk down the driveway on the side of the house which will take you into our backyard where we'll be celebrating.

 Q. Where should I park?

You're welcome to park on Clover Street on either side of our driveway. If you park on the street, note that cars shouldn't be left overnight per the town of Brighton. Alternatively, Council Rock Primary School is located down directly the street from our house. Access is via Esplanade Drive. You're welcome to park in the school parking lot and take the short (~5 minute) walk down the street into our driveway.

The address for Council Rock Primary School is: 600 Grosvenor Road, Rochester, NY 14610

 Q. What else should I do when I'm in Rochester?

Options are endless, especially during the summertime! Check out the ‘what to do in Rochester’ tab on this site for some of our favorites and recommendations.

 Q. What if I don't want to stay at the Del Monte or Inn on Broadway?

Totally fine! There are tons of other options depending on what you’re looking for! A quick Google will show you options for many other hotels that are nearby. For those willing to take a longer drive (or Uber), there are great lodging options & airbnbs on Canandaigua Lake.

 Q. What do I need to do in order to gain entry to NY state? What is the Quarantine period?

Here are the current (as of 4/18) requirements for entering NY. Travelers from states that are contiguous with NY (PA, NJ, CT, MA, VT) are exempt from the travel advisory. We expect these to change multiple times prior to our celebration.

Traveling to Rochester

 Q. Do I need to rent a car?

There are plenty of options for ride share (Uber, Lyft), and hotel accommodations in Rochester and Pittsford village are very central and walkable for food, drinks, exploring, etc. If your preference is to explore more of the greater Rochester area, you may consider having a car to do so. There are lots of options for rentals at the Airport or in town. All of the hotels we've suggested offer options for parking.
